Built in 1906, The Myrtle Hotel was created to meet the needs of Riverport’s booming fishing industry. Located in a protected bay, it was ideal for serving both fishermen and later, rum-running sea captains who were willing to help circumvent American prohibition.

In 2020, The Myrtle Hotel was reborn as The Riverport Inn B&B, an adult only accommodation which includes a dining room, salon, sitting room and a guest-only private Myrtle Bar, all echoing the Inn’s original speakeasy vibe and history. Warm hospitality welcomes discerning guests, providing an easy, comfortable and memorable stay.

Rich in history yet energetic and vital, Riverport is located within minutes of beautiful public beaches, such as Sand Dollar, Oxners, Hirtle’s Beach and Gaff Point Hike. Stop in at the Rose Bay General Store and Bistro for provisions or spend a little longer and enjoy a delightful meal. The LaHave ferry within sight and minutes, is the gateway east to Rissers, Crescent and Cherry Hill Beaches and The LaHave Bakery, West Dublin market and beloved Plowman’s Lunch.

Other nearby destinations include the Bayport Pub, The Ovens Nature Park and the UNESCO Heritage town of Lunenburg. Slightly longer drives take you to Bridgewater, Mahone bay or Halifax, the province’s capital, for a city fix. Riverport is roughly 90 minutes from the Halifax International Airport.
